Chris & Liz
I've known Liz for a few years. We've been great friends ever since we first started working together and both having a love for cats certainly helps. When Liz and her highschool sweetheart decided to tie the knot, they both came to me asking if I could photograph their wedding. I was certainly honoured and it certainly was a privilege to do so.

I had heard about Chris through Liz, but had only met him a few times before this official engagement. Chris is exactly how Liz described him to me. Such a nice guy, with a kind and welcoming spirit about him and an instant level of trust toward me to take care of documenting their wedding. I truly felt at home and was so looking forward to the big day.
Meeting the grooms family is a great way of breaking the ice for more relaxed shots come the post ceremonial celebrations. When there is a Scot wearing a kilt, there's sure to be fun times ahead
I love a big, happy smile on a father giving away their daughter. You can't fake this. You can't pose this. And to capture it is what I aim for.
Nothing says Chris like a convertible black Ford Mustang. Rain? What rain?
When you know someone in a work relationship, you don't normally get to see them at their stunning best. I was honestly stunned when I headed over to the girls preapring for the wedding. Her external beauty came real close to matching her inner beauty.
I love a good acoustic guitar. It's such a beautiful sound and using it at a wedding is perfect. The girls arrived in style, Mustang and all, with some lovely cloud cover on a somewhat surprising Melbourne day, weather wise.
Blue skies over the Fitzroy Gardens; exactly what these two lovebirds deserved.
There's always a group of paparazzi following the official photographer. I find it flattering at times and I always make sure I capture them in their native habitat. :)
And it's official. If you can't see the love right there, we need to have a talk.
We were all surprised that what was meant to be a rainy and stormy afternoon turned out to be anything but. This is Melbourne after all. Unpredictable weather. The only thing the weekly weather forecast is good for is to help you pick the weekends lottery numbers.
I spoke to soon. The storm hit, and hit hard. When chairs and glasses and bottles are being blown over and off tables, you know things are getting serious. If the bride has to hide in the corner because the rain is coming through sideways, we need to get out of here NOW.
Thankfully the Press Club is just down the road and we're all there and back into the warmth.
I like to use some high contrast B&W in locations with low light and there is a need for flash. I prefer to shoot with natural light but you can get some real classic B&W results with some funky flash use.
There are always great characters at a wedding. Trust me, they'll make themselves known to you when you show them the lens.
The dance floor is now open. Please enter with care. Children must be accompanied by a sober adult.
Sometimes flash photography may provide results that should never see the light of day. Especially where the light of day never ventures to.
I love these guys.
I can't thank Chris and Liz enough for asking me to document their special day. I wish them all the happiness together and for the future and I know in my heart that they will go through every high and low together because the love they have for each other is evident in abundance. I love them both and couldn't be happier for them. May your lives continue to shine and be an example of a true relationship.
Bless you heaps and love you dearly,
Steve K
